Rowan Smiles - 6 weeks (4-12)

Cook's 11th Birthday (4-12)

We just celebrated Cook's 11th birthday and honestly I can't even imagine where the last decade has gone...when did my little baby Cookie turn into this amazingly clever and intelligent young man??!! Well anyway, he had a party and invited some of his new Seward friends over for the afternoon. There was a lot of gaming, including Minecraft and Kid Icarus. Almost every kid brought an ipod, DS, or laptop, and at one point there was one screen on for each kid. It was weird to me, but that's because I'm old.

Cook picked out Angry Birds balloons. Ama thought they were pretty cool, too.

Cook had planned on having a water balloon battle for a birthday party activity, and we spent the day or two before the party blowing up a couple hundred of them. The day of the party it was rainy and REALLY cold, but the boys (and Ama) went ahead and did it anyway. It ended up being fun in spite of the terrible weather, although some of the kids almost froze to death.

Grandpa and Grandma were here for his birthday. Here you see Grandpa attempting to organize some kind of a game or contest with the water balloons. His attempt only lasted a minute before he realized they were all too wild and wound up to pay attention. Ha!

Sleeping Baby (4-12)

Here is a good shot of 5-week-old Rowan in full floppiness. If you lift that arm and let go, it will drop like a rock. And there may be bubbly drool dripping onto Grandma's shoulder...cute!!

Rowan 4 Weeks Old (4-12)

Rowan's already starting to look more like a real person instead of a baby nugget. She's got all sorts of cute and ugly and weird faces...


And she's filling up the basket.

Rowan's New Babysitters (4-12)

Both Cook and Ama seem to really enjoy holding Rowan. They are pretty fearless and aren't even really phased by her crying or wiggling. They are going to be the best babysitters!!

Ama Loses Her First Tooth! (4-12)

Ama lost her first tooth with just a month and a half left of kindergarten. She seems to have at least one more loose one, so we'll see how many holes she ends up with at the same time! Malaya lost her first tooth less than a week before Ama, so if we could stand the girls next to each other right now, they would be matchings! Good work, girls.

Rowan's First Bath! (4-12)

Rowan liked getting a warm bath, and there were lots of people watching a documenting the entire thing! She was about 3 weeks old when her belly button was healed up enough to submerge her body in water for the first time. She seemed to enjoy it!!

On the Porch (3-12)

We've been spending lots of time and eating dinner out on the porch, which is so beautiful with our new patio furniture (thank you so much mom and dad!). It's already becoming our favorite place to hang out on nice summery days!

Sometimes the swing makes Rowan happy and sometimes it makes her sad. Usually Ama's attention makes her happy. Here you see her happy...
